Subsequently, many other women in the Film Industry including actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Judith Godrèche and Katherine Kendall, came out to accuse him of making unwanted sexual advances. However, Weinstein denied any non-consensual sex. The same day, he was arrested after surrendering to police. However, he was later released $1 million bail. • On January 6, 2020, a Los Angeles court also charged him with raping one woman and sexually assaulting another in 2013. • On February 24, 2020, he was convicted by a jury of two of five criminal charges - one count of criminal sexual assault in the first degree and one count of rape in the third degree. However, the jury didn't charge him predatory sexual assault; a charge that could have led to a life sentence. He was remanded to jail at Rikers Island in New York City. • On March 11, 2020, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison. • On July 20, 2021, New York prison officials extradited him to California to face additional sexual assault charges.
