Before becoming a YouTuber, Thompson had worked as an Airline pilot for 11 years. Thereafter, he tried his hand in real estate for a short period of time.
In 2010, he started his YouTube channel named ‘The King of Random,’ and gradually, he got very popular on the internet. Mostly, he used to shoot videos based on science experiments. His first video was about Ninja Gym.
His channel was the 321st most subscribed channel on YouTube.
In 2017, in an interview with MediaKix, he said,
“I started making videos on YouTube showing people what I was tinkering with and what I was coming up with,” he said in the interview. “It turned into a big enough movement that I shut down my real estate business, I quit the airlines, and now it’s all YouTube.”
As in July 2019, Thompson had 11,680,517 subscribers on his YouTube channel and his videos have billions of views.
One of his popular YouTube videos was- “How to Make LEGO Gummy Candy!” in which he explained how to make Candy at home.
His last YouTube video was- “Rice Cake RAFT! Will It Float?” which was published on July 29, 2019, the day when he died.
He had more than four hundred thousands followers on Instagram.
