  • After completing her high school education, she appeared in nursing exams, but she failed.
  • While pursuing her master’s degree at IAE, she took part in the beauty pageant Miss France 2021.
  • Amandine Petit’s maternal family has a history in pageantry. In 1934, Amandine’s great-grandmother, Madeleine Courvalet, was crowned Reine de Creully. At the age of 20, her maternal grandmother, Nicole Belloteau, became the crowned queen at Château de Creully (1963).
  • After the completion of her management course, she aimed at becoming a director of establishments such as nursing homes or residential care for senior citizens. She was intrigued to pursue the management course due to her paternal grandmother, who was an Alzheimer’s patient. Consequently, she affiliated with France Alzheimer, an NGO that strives for the betterment of Alzheimer’s patients.
  • She first grew an interest in pageantry at the age of 17 when she met Miss France 2010, Malika Ménard, who, like Petit, also belonged from Normandy. While recollecting her meeting with Malika Ménard, in an interview, Petit  said,

    I had spotted her in the street, she was 17 years old…. This is the only time this has happened to me. I found that she had all the criteria to go far in the competition. She had marked me: she is tall, has beautiful clear eyes, a lot of elegance and presence.”

  • In the beauty pageant Miss Normandy 2015, Petit secured herself the position of first runner-up. Unsatisfied, Petit again took part in the pageant after five years.
  • On September 26, 2020, Amandine Petit earned the title of Miss Normandy 2020. Petit was crowned by the French model and Miss France 2020, Clémence Botino.

  • On December 19, 2020, Amandine Petit became the titleholder of Miss France 2021, which was held at Puy du Fou, a historical theme park in Les Epesses, France. At Miss France 2021, which marked the 100th anniversary of the competition, Petit became the seventh woman from Normandy to win the title. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pageant was postponed one week from its original date.

  • In wake of the COVID-19 pandemic,  two titles were awarded in 2021, Miss Universe 2020 (in May 2021) and Miss Universe 2021 (in December 2021). Although Petit was supposed to represent France at Miss Universe 2021 (on December 12, 2021), she was also expected to attend Miss France 2022 (on December 11, 2021). Therefore, Petit represented France in the 2020 edition of the pageant.
  • She made it to the top 21 at Miss Universe 2020, which was held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, US, on May 16, 2021.

  • Clémence Botino, who was originally lined up to represent France in Miss Universe 2020, participated in the 2021 edition of the pageant.
  • During her beauty pageant journey, Amandine Petit actively advocated women’s rights.
  • In 2021, she appeared as a contestant in Fort Boyard, a French TV game show in which contestants complete challenges to win prize money. Petit quit the show during a task in which she had to jump into the void harnessed to a pontoon. Overwhelmed by fear, she refused to jump and decided to give up.
  • Thereafter, she started working as a weekly co-host on Virgin Radio, where she hosted a show that entertained the French youth during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • To symbolize values like liberty, equality, and fraternity, 109 women were chosen to portray Marianne (the national personification of the French Republic) in an exhibition outside the mausoleum Panthéon, Paris, in March 2021. Amandine Petit was one of those 109 women.

  • During Miss Normandy 2021 contest, which was held on October 23, 2021, the organizing committee surprised Amandine by inviting her grandmother, a former beauty queen, on stage to walk the ramp with Amandine.
