She was born as Daphne Anne Vella in Sliema, Malta.
In 1987, she started working as a journalist, and by the 1990s, she was a regular columnist for “The Sunday Times of Malta” and an Associate Editor of “The Malta Independent.”
Beyond a columnist with “The Malta Independent” and “The Malta Independent on Sunday,” Daphne was the editor of the “Taste & Flair magazine.”
Daphne Galizia maintained a blog entitled- “Running Commentary,” which included investigative reporting on a number of people. Her blog was counted one of the most popular blogs in Malta.
She was the first to report that Malta Government’s Minister- Konrad Mizzi and Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s chief of staff- Keith Schembri were connected to the Panama Papers leak. She hinted their connection with Panama Papers on her blog.
In 2017, she alleged that Panama company- Egrant was owned by Michelle Muscat, the Prime Minister’s wife.
On 16 October 2017, she had just driven away in her Peugeot 108 from her home in Mosta (a town outside Malta’s capital of Valletta), when her car exploded. The debris of her car- Peugeot 108 was scattered across the road and into a nearby field.
In her last blog post, she had targeted Mr. Schembri, who was testifying in a libel case.
