• He says that his birth was an accident as when he was born his parents were very young, mother- 20, father-22 but his parents broke up when he was 2.

• In 2002, he met Ian Hecox in his sixth-grade science class.

• He suffered from a disease called HSP (Henoch-Schonlein Purpura), which involves the inflammation of small blood vessels. He was bedridden for quite a long time due to that disease.

• While he was in his bed fighting HSP, he taught himself computer programming & coding.

• The same year, he created a website called ‘smosh.com’ which was later joined by Ian.

• The name ‘Smosh’ came from an incident where he mistook a friend explaining a mosh pit.
