• Tom spent the majority of his childhood in Huntington Beach, California, where he grew up surfing.

• When he first rode a motorcycle,  he hit a Cadillac.

• At the age of 15, he developed an interest in the motorcycle racing. at age 15.

• He tasted success in the early 1970s and earned AMA National number 80, which listed him among the top 100 flat track motorcycles racers in the U.S. 

• In the mid-1970s, he co-founded White Brothers Cycle Specialties with his twin brother Dan, which later became a huge success. In 2000, they sold the company and started focusing towards restoring and collecting vintage motocross bikes. 

• His son Brad developed an interest in motorcycles, much earlier than Tom had. But on an awful day in 1997, his son met with an accident that crushed his larynx, after which he suffered a major brain injury that left him blind and quadriplegic.

• In 2014, White was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame.

• In 2017, he was honored with Glen Helen’s Walk of Fame.

• In early 2017, when he was just about to go a motocross race at Glen Helen, he felt stomachache, which he initially thought was indigestion. After having a PETscan, he was diagnosed with Cancer in his intestines that had spread to his liver and lungs. 

• He had a massive collection of more than 170 motorcycles.
