  • He was born to mother Lylie Serkis, a British teacher, and father Clement Serkis, an Armenian doctor in Ruislip Manor in Middlesex.
  • Since his childhood, he wanted to be an artist because he was a painting and drawing buff.
  • He studied visual arts at Lancaster University and opted theater as a secondary subject in his course as he had no interest in acting at that time.
  • He developed his interest in acting when he played the lead role of a rebellious teenager holding a teacher hostage in Barrie Keeffe’s play titled “Gotcha.” He got a lot of appreciation and motivation from others, which prompted him to choose acting as his primary subject.
