Lynch and his three siblings were raised by his mother Delisa, who once held a 200-meter track record at Oakland Technical High School, the school that Marshawn later attended.

During High School, Lynch was a four-sport star in football, basketball, track, and wrestling.

In 2003 High School Games, Marshawn scored 10 touchdowns in two high school playoff.

Lynch put on #10 at the start of his sophomore year at High School. His cousin Virdell Jenkins wore #9, and Robert Jordan wore #11.
